Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers

Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers

Gooey cream cheese–stuffed jalapeños wrapped in a crispy Panko shell with smoky bacon crumbles — the ultimate crowd-pleasing party bite that disappears in minutes. Way less greasy than deep-fried versions.

⏱ 35 minServes 4American

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh jalapeños (medium-large)
  • 225 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ½ cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • as needed cooking spray

Directions

  1. 1Halve jalapeños lengthwise and use a small spoon to scoop out seeds and membranes (wear gloves — this matters).
  2. 2Mix together cream cheese, cheddar, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. 3Spoon filling generously into each jalapeño half, mounding it slightly.
  4. 4Mix Panko with smoked paprika in a shallow dish; press the filled side of each popper into the Panko mixture to coat the top.
  5. 5Spray the basket with cooking spray and arrange poppers in a single layer, filling side up.
  6. 6Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for 8–10 minutes until Panko is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  7. 7Cool for 3 minutes before serving — the filling is very hot.

💡 Keep seeds in for more heat, remove completely for a milder popper. No bacon on hand? Substitute with store-bought real bacon bits or simply omit for a vegetarian version.
