Air Fryer Toasted Ravioli

Cheese ravioli breaded and crisped into a St. Louis-style snack, served with marinara for dipping rather than eaten as sauced pasta.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz refrigerated cheese ravioli
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • as needed neutral oil spray
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Directions

  1. 1Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil and cook the ravioli for 2 minutes only; drain and cool until easy to handle.
  2. 2Pour buttermilk into one bowl and combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and garlic powder in another.
  3. 3Dip each ravioli in buttermilk, then coat both sides firmly with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. 4Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes and spray the basket before adding the breadcrumb-coated ravioli.
  5. 5Arrange half the ravioli in one layer and air fry 7–9 minutes, turning after 5 minutes, until the coating is crisp.
  6. 6Repeat with the remaining ravioli and serve with warm marinara sauce as a dip.

💡 The brief par-cook keeps refrigerated ravioli tender inside without making the pasta too soft to bread; fully cooked ravioli can split during coating.
