Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Directions

  1. 1Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl, then form into 16-20 meatballs.
  2. 2Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat and brown meatballs on all sides, about 8 minutes total; remove and set aside.
  3. 3In the same pot, sauté diced onion until softened, about 3 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. 4Stir in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and cumin, bring to a simmer.
  5. 5Return meatballs to the pot and simmer for 20-25 minutes until sauce thickens and meatballs are cooked through.
  6. 6Taste and adjust seasonings as needed before serving.
