Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 800g canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup beef broth

Directions

  1. 1Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half the garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl; form into 16-20 meatballs.
  2. 2Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat and brown meatballs on all sides, about 8 minutes; remove and set aside.
  3. 3In the same pot, sauté remaining garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and beef broth.
  5. 5Return meatballs to the pot and bring sauce to a simmer.
  6. 6Cook uncovered for 15-18 minutes until meatballs are cooked through and sauce thickens.
  7. 7Taste and adjust seasonings, then serve hot over rice or with bread.
