Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. 3Beat butter and sugar until creamy, then add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Fold in flour mixture and almonds until combined.
  4. 4Divide dough in half and shape into two 12-inch long logs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  5. 5Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. 6Cool for 10 minutes, then slice diagonally into 3/4-inch pieces.
  7. 7Place slices cut-side down on baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy, stirring halfway through.
