Apple Pie

Ingredients
- •2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- •1 cup cold butter, cubed
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •6-8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- •3/4 cup sugar
- •1/4 cup brown sugar
- •2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- •1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- •1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- •1 tablespoon lemon juice
- •1 egg, beaten
Directions
- 1Mix flour and salt, then cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water gradually until dough forms. Divide in half, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- 2Roll out one dough portion and place in a 9-inch pie dish. Preheat oven to 375°F.
- 3Toss sliced apples with sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour filling into crust.
- 4Roll out remaining dough and place over filling, sealing edges. Cut vents in top and brush with beaten egg.
- 5Bake for 45-50 minutes until crust is golden brown and apples are tender. Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
