Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. 2Mix 2 cups flour, oats, softened butter, and brown sugar until crumbly; press half the mixture into the prepared pan.
  3. 3Combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; spread over the crust.
  4. 4Sprinkle remaining oat mixture evenly over the apples and press gently.
  5. 5Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
  6. 6Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
