Ingredients

  • 1 sheet thawed puff pastry
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F and place puff pastry sheet on a lined baking tray.
  2. 2Peel, core, and slice apples thinly into half-moons.
  3. 3Melt butter in a large skillet, add apples, both sugars, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt; cook for 8-10 minutes until apples soften and caramelize slightly, stirring gently.
  4. 4Arrange caramelized apples in overlapping rows on the puff pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
  5. 5Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden and apples are tender.
  6. 6Warm apricot jam and brush over the hot tart as a glaze.
  7. 7Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
