Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk
  • 4-5 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green olives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Directions

  1. 1Mix flour, butter, salt, and egg yolk until combined, then gradually add warm water until dough forms; rest 15 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil in a skillet and sauté onion until soft, then add ground beef, cumin, and salt; cook until browned and cool slightly.
  3. 3Stir chopped hard-boiled eggs and olives into the cooled beef mixture.
  4. 4Roll dough thin and cut 3-inch circles; place 1 tablespoon filling on each circle.
  5. 5Fold pastry in half and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
  6. 6Bake on a greased baking sheet at 400°F for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7Serve warm or at room temperature.
