Argentine Beef Empanadas

Ingredients
- •2 cups all-purpose flour
- •1/2 cup butter, softened
- •1/2 teaspoon salt
- •1 egg yolk egg yolk
- •4-5 tablespoons warm water
- •1 pound ground beef
- •1 medium onion, finely diced
- •2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- •1/4 cup green olives, chopped
- •1 teaspoon cumin
- •1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions
- 1Mix flour, butter, salt, and egg yolk until combined, then gradually add warm water until dough forms; rest 15 minutes.
- 2Heat oil in a skillet and sauté onion until soft, then add ground beef, cumin, and salt; cook until browned and cool slightly.
- 3Stir chopped hard-boiled eggs and olives into the cooled beef mixture.
- 4Roll dough thin and cut 3-inch circles; place 1 tablespoon filling on each circle.
- 5Fold pastry in half and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
- 6Bake on a greased baking sheet at 400°F for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- 7Serve warm or at room temperature.
