  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups whipped cream

Directions

  1. 1Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and 2 tablespoons sugar, press into a 9-inch pie dish, and bake at 350°F for 8 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  2. 2Combine milk, 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan; heat over medium, stirring constantly until thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. 3Whisk egg yolks in a bowl, slowly add hot mixture while whisking, then return to saucepan and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  4. 4Pour custard into cooled crust and refrigerate for 1 hour until set.
  5. 5Slice bananas and arrange over custard filling.
  6. 6Top with whipped cream and serve chilled, or refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.
