A Vietnamese sandwich bursting with crispy baguette, savory pâté, fresh vegetables, and tangy pickled carrots and daikon.

Ingredients

  • 1 Vietnamese baguette or French baguette
  • 4 oz pâté or liver paste
  • 4 oz Vietnamese cold cuts or ham, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup pickled carrots and daikon
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 fresh jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • 1 tsp butter

Directions

  1. 1Slice the baguette lengthwise and lightly butter the inside, then toast in a 350°F oven for 3-4 minutes until crispy.
  2. 2Spread mayonnaise on one half and pâté on the other half of the toasted baguette.
  3. 3Layer the cold cuts, pickled vegetables, jalapeño, cucumber, and cilantro evenly inside the baguette.
  4. 4Drizzle soy sauce over the filling and slice the sandwich in half diagonally.
  5. 5Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crispy.
