Beef and Broccoli

Tender beef and crisp broccoli tossed in a savory soy-ginger sauce over steaming rice.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, sliced thin
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Directions

  1. 1Toss sliced beef with cornstarch and half the soy sauce; let sit 10 minutes.
  2. 2Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over high heat and cook beef until browned, about 4 minutes; remove and set aside.
  3. 3Add remaining oil to skillet, stir-fry broccoli for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp; add garlic and ginger, cook 30 seconds.
  4. 4Return beef to skillet and add broth, remaining soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  5. 5Simmer 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
  6. 6Serve immediately over steamed rice.
