Beef Brisket Tacos

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 large onion, halved
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 flour or corn tortillas
  • as needed fresh cilantro, diced onion, lime wedges

Directions

  1. 1Rub the brisket with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper on all sides.
  2. 2Sear the brisket in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side until browned.
  3. 3Add beef broth, onion halves, and minced garlic to the pot, cover, and braise in a 325°F oven for 3-4 hours until very tender.
  4. 4Remove brisket from liquid and let cool slightly, then shred using two forks.
  5. 5Warm tortillas and fill with shredded brisket, top with fresh cilantro, diced onion, and a squeeze of lime juice.
