Beef with Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper

Directions

  1. 1Mix beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and white pepper in a bowl; let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. 2Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat and cook beef in batches until browned, about 2 minutes per batch; set aside.
  3. 3Add remaining oil to the pan and stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. 4Add onion and broccoli, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. 5Return beef to the pan and add oyster sauce, beef broth, and sesame oil; stir well.
  6. 6Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
  7. 7Serve immediately over steamed rice.
