Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. 3Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  4. 4Gently fold in blueberries, then whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla, then fold into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. 5Turn dough onto a floured surface, shape into a 1-inch thick disk, and cut into 8 wedges.
  6. 6Place scones on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7Cool on wire rack and serve warm with clotted cream and jam.
