Bobotie
A fragrant South African spiced mince curry topped with a creamy egg custard and baked until golden.

Ingredients
- •2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- •1 large onion, diced
- •2 cloves garlic, minced
- •500g ground beef
- •2 tablespoons curry powder
- •1 tablespoon turmeric
- •2 slices bread, soaked in milk
- •1/4 cup raisins
- •2 tablespoons chutney
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •2 eggs
- •1 cup milk
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 2Heat oil in a large skillet and sauté onion and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.
- 3Add ground beef and brown, breaking it up as it cooks, about 5 minutes.
- 4Stir in curry powder, turmeric, soaked bread, raisins, chutney, and salt; simmer for 5 minutes.
- 5Transfer mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
- 6Whisk together eggs and milk, then pour over the meat mixture.
- 7Bake for 20-25 minutes until the egg topping is set and golden.
- 8Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
