Breaded Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. 1Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
  3. 3Coat each shrimp in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in egg, and finally coat thoroughly with panko mixture.
  4. 4Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. 5Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, turning halfway through.
  6. 6Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7Serve immediately with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or lemon wedges.
