Buñuelos

Golden, crispy fried dough puffs coated in cinnamon sugar and served with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • oil for frying vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar coating

Directions

  1. 1In a pot, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. 2Remove from heat and stir in flour until a thick dough forms.
  3. 3Heat oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
  4. 4Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  5. 5Remove buñuelos with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. 6Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together, then coat warm buñuelos generously.
  7. 7Serve immediately with hot chocolate sauce for dipping.
