Ingredients
- •1 cup broken rice (cơm tấm)
- •1 lb pork spare ribs
- •3 tablespoons fish sauce
- •2 tablespoons honey
- •4 cloves garlic, minced
- •1 tablespoon sesame oil
- •2 eggs large
- •3 shallots thinly sliced
- •2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- •1 teaspoon black pepper
- •2 cups cucumber, sliced
Directions
- 1Cook broken rice in a rice cooker or pot with water until tender, about 20 minutes.
- 2Combine minced garlic, fish sauce, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper in a bowl.
- 3Marinate pork ribs in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- 4Heat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook ribs 5-7 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked through.
- 5While ribs cook, fry sliced shallots in 1 tablespoon oil until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
- 6Fry eggs sunny-side up in remaining oil until whites are set but yolks remain runny.
- 7Divide cooked rice between plates, top with grilled ribs, fried egg, crispy shallots, and fresh cucumber slices.
