Cơm Tấm Sườn Nướng

Ingredients

  • 1 cup broken rice (cơm tấm)
  • 1 lb pork spare ribs
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 eggs large
  • 3 shallots thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cucumber, sliced

Directions

  1. 1Cook broken rice in a rice cooker or pot with water until tender, about 20 minutes.
  2. 2Combine minced garlic, fish sauce, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. 3Marinate pork ribs in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  4. 4Heat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook ribs 5-7 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked through.
  5. 5While ribs cook, fry sliced shallots in 1 tablespoon oil until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  6. 6Fry eggs sunny-side up in remaining oil until whites are set but yolks remain runny.
  7. 7Divide cooked rice between plates, top with grilled ribs, fried egg, crispy shallots, and fresh cucumber slices.
