Ingredients

  • •1 ciabatta loaf or panini bread
  • •8 oz fresh mozzarella
  • •2 medium ripe tomatoes
  • •8-10 leaves fresh basil
  • •2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • •2 tbsp olive oil
  • •1 clove garlic, minced
  • •to taste salt and black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Slice the ciabatta loaf horizontally and lightly brush the inside with olive oil and minced garlic.
  2. 2Layer sliced fresh mozzarella on the bottom half of the bread, followed by tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.
  3. 3Drizzle balsamic glaze over the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4Close the sandwich with the top half of the bread.
  5. 5Heat a panini press or skillet over medium-high heat and press the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese melts.
  6. 6Remove from heat, slice diagonally if desired, and serve immediately.

💡 Pat fresh mozzarella and tomatoes dry before pressing a Caprese panini; their moisture can steam ciabatta before it crisps.
