⏱ 50 minServes 6Spanish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 3/4 cup sugar until golden caramel forms, stirring constantly. Quickly pour caramel into a flan dish, coating the bottom evenly.
  2. 2Blend eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a blender until smooth.
  3. 3Pour custard mixture over the caramel in the flan dish.
  4. 4Place the flan dish in a larger baking pan and fill the pan with hot water halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
  5. 5Bake for 45-50 minutes until the custard is set but slightly jiggles in the center.
  6. 6Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. 7Run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel to drip over the flan.
