Caramel Tart
A buttery shortbread crust topped with layers of rich caramel and dark chocolate that melts on your tongue.

Ingredients
- •1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- •1/2 cup butter, softened
- •1/4 cup sugar
- •1 pinch salt
- •1 cup sugar for caramel
- •6 tablespoons butter for caramel
- •1/2 cup heavy cream
- •4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- •2 tablespoons butter for chocolate
Directions
- 1Mix flour, softened butter, sugar, and salt until crumbly; press into a 9-inch tart pan and bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- 2For caramel, melt 1 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until amber-colored, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3Remove from heat and stir in 6 tablespoons butter and heavy cream until smooth; let cool for 5 minutes, then pour into cooled crust.
- 4Melt dark chocolate with 2 tablespoons butter, then spread evenly over the caramel layer.
- 5Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes until set, then slice and serve.
