Chocolate Fondant

A decadent warm chocolate cake with a molten, gooey center that flows out when you cut into it.

Ingredients

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50g all-purpose flour
  • 30g granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and butter 4 ramekin dishes, dusting with cocoa powder.
  2. 2Melt chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick, about 3 minutes.
  4. 4Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, then gently fold in flour, salt, and vanilla extract.
  5. 5Divide batter evenly among prepared ramekins.
  6. 6Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft when gently pressed.
  7. 7Let cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert each fondant onto a serving plate and serve immediately.
