Ingredients

- •8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- •3 tablespoons butter
- •3 large eggs, separated
- •2 tablespoons sugar
- •1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- •1 cup heavy cream, chilled
- •2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Directions
- 1Mix graham cracker crumbs, 6 tablespoons melted butter, and 2 tablespoons sugar together, then press firmly into a 9-inch tart pan and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- 2Melt chopped chocolate with 3 tablespoons butter over a double boiler, stirring until smooth, then let cool slightly.
- 3Whisk egg yolks with 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla until pale, then fold into the cooled chocolate.
- 4Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the chocolate mixture in two additions.
- 5Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then fold into the chocolate mousse.
- 6Pour mousse into the tart crust and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
- 7Serve chilled with additional whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.
