Chocolate Pie

Ingredients
- •1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
- •2/3 cup cocoa powder
- •1 1/2 cups sugar
- •1/4 cup cornstarch
- •1/2 teaspoon salt
- •3 cups whole milk
- •4 tablespoons butter
- •1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- •1 cup heavy whipping cream
- •2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and bake the pie crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
- 2In a saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- 3Gradually stir in milk until smooth, then cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil (about 8-10 minutes).
- 4Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
- 5Pour the chocolate filling into the pre-baked crust and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- 6Before serving, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form and top each slice with whipped cream.
