Churros

Ingredients
- •1 cup water
- •2.5 tablespoons granulated sugar
- •1/2 teaspoon salt
- •1 cup all-purpose flour
- •2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- •1/4 cup granulated sugar for coating
- •1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- 1Heat water, sugar, and salt in a saucepan until boiling, then remove from heat and stir in flour until a thick dough forms.
- 2Heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep pan or fryer.
- 3Transfer dough to a churrera or piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- 4Pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough directly into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes total.
- 5Remove churros with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl, then coat warm churros generously.
- 7Serve immediately with chocolate sauce for dipping.
