Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk for glaze

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. 2Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then stir in milk until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3Roll dough into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar, then roll up and cut into 8 wedges.
  4. 4Place scones on a greased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. 5Whisk powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons milk to make glaze and drizzle over warm scones.
