Cipolline in Agrodolce (Italian Sweet-Sour Onions)

- •1 1/2 lb cipolline onions, peeled
- •2 tbsp olive oil
- •1/3 cup red wine vinegar
- •2 tbsp granulated sugar
- •3/4 tsp salt
- •1/2 cup water
Directions
- 1Heat olive oil in a wide skillet and add the cipolline onions.
- 2Brown the onions for 6 minutes, turning occasionally.
- 3Add vinegar, sugar, salt, and water.
- 4Cover and simmer for 12 minutes.
- 5Uncover and cook 5 minutes until the liquid becomes a glossy glaze.
- 6Serve warm or at room temperature.
