Classic American Shrimp Cocktail

Ingredients
- •1.5 lbs shrimp, large, peeled and deveined, tails on
- •1 cup ketchup
- •2 tbsp horseradish, prepared
- •1 tbsp lemon juice, fresh
- •1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- •2 shallots, halved
- •1 tsp dill, fresh, for garnish
- •1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
Directions
- 1Fill a large pot with water, add shallots and Old Bay seasoning, and bring to a boil.
- 2Add shrimp to boiling water and cook 2–3 minutes until pink and curled.
- 3Transfer shrimp immediately to an ice bath to stop cooking and chill completely.
- 4Stir together ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
- 5Taste cocktail sauce and adjust horseradish or lemon to your preference.
- 6Drain chilled shrimp and pat dry with paper towels.
- 7Arrange shrimp around the rim of a serving platter with cocktail sauce in the center.
- 8Garnish with fresh dill and serve immediately.
