Classic Bread Stuffing

Ingredients
- •1 pound bread, cubed and dried
- •4 tablespoons butter
- •1 medium onion, diced
- •3 stalks celery, diced
- •2 cups chicken broth
- •2 teaspoons dried sage
- •1 teaspoon dried thyme
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 2Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté diced onion and celery until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 3Add sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir for 1 minute.
- 4Place bread cubes in a large bowl, pour the vegetable mixture over them, then toss gently.
- 5Gradually add chicken broth while tossing until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- 6Transfer to prepared baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
