Classic Calzones
Golden, crispy pockets of pizza dough filled with melted mozzarella, ricotta, and savory fillings, baked until perfectly puffed.

Ingredients
- •1 pound pizza dough
- •1 cup ricotta cheese
- •2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- •1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- •6 ounces pepperoni slices
- •1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- •1 egg
- •1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- •1/2 teaspoon salt
- •1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Fold in pepperoni and spinach.
- 2Divide pizza dough into 4 equal portions. On a floured surface, stretch each portion into a 6-inch circle.
- 3Spoon filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Fold dough in half and seal edges by pressing firmly and crimping with a fork.
- 4Place calzones on a greased baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush over the tops of each calzone.
- 5Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
