Ingredients

  • 1 sheet thawed puff pastry
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet and prick with a fork.
  2. 2Peel, core, and slice apples into thin, even slices. Toss with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
  3. 3Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté apples for 5-7 minutes until slightly softened and golden.
  4. 4Arrange caramelized apples in overlapping rows on the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  5. 5Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  6. 6Warm apricot jam with water and brush over the hot tart to glaze.
  7. 7Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
