Classic Lemon Cake

Ingredients
- •1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- •1½ teaspoons baking powder
- •½ teaspoon salt
- •½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- •1 cup granulated sugar
- •2 large eggs
- •½ cup sour cream
- •3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- •1 tablespoon lemon zest
- •1 cup powdered sugar
- •2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- 2Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add lemon zest.
- 3Alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in lemon juice until just combined.
- 4Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- 6Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to create a smooth glaze and drizzle over cooled cake.
