Ingredients

  • 2 large yellow onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  2. 2Cut onions into 1/4-inch thick rings and separate the layers.
  3. 3Whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl.

  5. 5Combine wet and dry ingredients to create a smooth batter.
  6. 6Dip onion rings into batter, coating completely, then carefully place into hot oil.
