Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter.
  2. 2Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then drain on paper towels and chop. Sauté diced onion in the bacon fat until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. 3Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl until well combined.
  4. 4Spread chopped bacon and sautéed onion in the prepared pie dish, then sprinkle cheese over top.
  5. 5Pour egg mixture evenly over the bacon, onion, and cheese.
