Dulce de Leche Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. 2Mix 2 cups flour, 1 cup softened butter, 3/4 cup sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, and salt until combined, then press firmly into the prepared pan.
  3. 3Bake the crust for 12-15 minutes until light golden, then remove and let cool slightly.
  4. 4Spread dulce de leche evenly over the cooled crust.
  5. 5Combine brown sugar, oats, and melted butter, then sprinkle over the dulce de leche layer.
  6. 6Bake for 15-18 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  7. 7Cool completely in the pan, then cut into 16 bars and serve.
