⏱ 30 minServes 4Chinese-American

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup sweet and sour sauce

Directions

  1. 1Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ground pork until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks, about 5 minutes.
  2. 2Add minced garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in shredded cabbage, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Cook until cabbage is softened, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. 3Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each egg roll wrapper. Wet the edges with water, fold in the sides, then roll tightly, sealing the final edge.
  4. 4Heat remaining vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat to 350°F. Fry egg rolls 2-3 at a time for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. 5Transfer egg rolls to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
