Ingredients
- •250g all-purpose flour
- •7g instant yeast
- •250ml warm water
- •100ml warm milk
- •1 tsp salt
- •1/2 tsp baking soda
- •1 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- 1Mix flour, yeast, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
- 2Add warm water and milk, stirring until you have a thick, smooth batter with a consistency like pancake batter.
- 3Cover and let rest at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until bubbly.
- 4Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly oil crumpet rings or metal molds.
- 5Pour batter into rings until half-full and cook for 4-5 minutes until the top sets and holes appear.
- 6Remove rings and flip crumpets, cooking another 1-2 minutes until golden on the bottom.
- 7Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey.
