Ingredients
- •3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- •2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- •1 tbsp granulated sugar
- •1 1/2 tsp salt
- •1 1/4 cups warm water
- •3 tbsp olive oil
- •1 lb ground beef
- •1 medium tomato, seeded and finely diced
- •1/2 medium yellow onion, finely diced
- •1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- •2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- •1/2 tsp ground allspice
- •1/2 tsp black pepper
Directions
- 1Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and half the salt, then knead with warm water and olive oil until smooth.
- 2Cover the dough and let it rise 50 minutes until puffed.
- 3Mix beef, tomato, onion, parsley, lime juice, allspice, pepper, and remaining salt, then drain any pooled liquid.
- 4Divide dough into twelve rounds and place a small mound of beef filling in each centre.
- 5Pinch three edges together firmly to form closed triangular pastries and place seam-side up on a lined sheet.
- 6Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes until golden and the beef is cooked through.
💡 Drain the seasoned beef filling before shaping; tomato and lime release enough liquid to weaken the seams if left pooled.
