Fresh Strawberry Lemonade
Bright, tangy lemonade swirled with a quick fresh-strawberry purée that turns the whole pitcher a gorgeous rosy pink. Sweetened just right and packed with real fruit flavour — this is the drink everyone asks for at summer cookouts.
⏱ 15 minServes 6American
Ingredients
- •2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- •1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
- •3/4 cup granulated sugar
- •3/4 cup water (for simple syrup)
- •3 cups cold water (for the pitcher)
- •as needed ice cubes
- •as desired fresh lemon slices and strawberry halves, for garnish
Directions
- 1Combine sugar and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes; remove from heat and let cool.
- 2Blend the strawberries in a blender until completely smooth, then press through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds.
- 3Juice the lemons and strain out any seeds.
- 4Combine the lemon juice, strawberry purée, and cooled simple syrup in a large pitcher.
- 5Add 3 cups of cold water and stir well to combine.
- 6Taste and adjust — add more simple syrup for sweetness or more lemon juice for tartness.
- 7Fill glasses with ice, pour the lemonade over top, and garnish with lemon slices and strawberry halves.
💡 Frozen strawberries work perfectly when fresh ones are out of season — thaw them first and blend with their juices. Make the simple syrup in advance and keep it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks; it's also great for cocktails and iced teas. For a sparkling version, substitute 1 cup of the cold water with club soda, added just before serving.
