Fried Cheese Curds
Golden, crispy-fried cheese curds with a melted interior and satisfying squeak, perfect for dipping in ranch or marinara sauce.

Ingredients
- •1 pound cheese curds (fresh mozzarella curds)
- •1 cup all-purpose flour
- •2 large eggs
- •1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- •1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- •1/2 teaspoon paprika
- •quart vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- 1Freeze cheese curds for at least 2 hours or overnight until very cold.
- 2Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and paprika.
- 3Working quickly, coat each cheese curd in flour, then dip in egg, then roll in panko breadcrumbs; place on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes.
- 4Heat oil to 350°F in a deep pot or deep fryer.
- 5Fry cheese curds in batches for 30-45 seconds until golden brown, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- 6Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels for 1 minute before serving hot.
