Fried Pickles

Ingredients
- •1 cup all-purpose flour
- •1 cup cornstarch
- •1 teaspoon salt
- •1 teaspoon black pepper
- •1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- •1 cup buttermilk
- •1 jar (32 oz) dill pickle spears, drained
- •2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
- •1/2 cup ranch dressing for serving
Directions
- 1Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F.
- 2Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl.
- 3Pat pickle spears dry with paper towels, then dip each into buttermilk.
- 4Coat buttermilk-dipped pickles in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- 5Carefully place pickles into hot oil in small batches and fry for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 6Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 7Serve immediately with ranch dressing for dipping.
