Ingredients
- •3/4 lb ground beef
- •3/4 lb ground pork
- •2 slices white bread, crusts removed
- •1/3 cup milk
- •1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- •1 egg
- •1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- •1 tsp dried marjoram
- •2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- •1 tsp salt
- •1/2 tsp black pepper
- •2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- 1Soak the bread in milk for 3 minutes, then squeeze it gently and tear it into small pieces.
- 2Mix beef, pork, soaked bread, onion, egg, mustard, marjoram, parsley, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- 3Shape the mixture into eight flattened oval patties.
- 4Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the patties without crowding.
- 5Cook 6–7 minutes per side until browned and the centres reach 160°F (71°C).
- 6Cool completely on a rack before packing for a cold lunch.
💡 Flatten the patties more than burger patties; Frikadellen should cook through before the exterior becomes too dark.
