Ingredients
- •3/4 cup butter, softened
- •1 cup brown sugar
- •1/4 cup molasses
- •1 large egg
- •2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- •2 teaspoons ground ginger
- •1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- •1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- •1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- •1/4 teaspoon salt
- •2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- 2Beat in molasses and egg until well combined.
- 3In another bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
- 4Roll dough into 1-inch balls, coat with granulated sugar, and place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
- 5Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
- 6Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
