Ingredients

  • 2 large chayote, peeled and cut into matchsticks
  • 1 small yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 2 tsp gluten-free fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions

  1. 1Heat vegetable oil and cook onion and garlic for 3 minutes.
  2. 2Add tomato and cook for 2 minutes until softened.
  3. 3Add chayote and toss for 2 minutes.
  4. 4Stir in fish sauce, water, and black pepper.
  5. 5Cover and cook for 6 minutes until the chayote is tender-crisp.
  6. 6Serve hot.
