Ingredients

  • 12 fresh jalapeños
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. 1Cut jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully remove seeds and membranes using a small spoon or knife.
  2. 2Mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon in a bowl until well combined.
  3. 3Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling generously.
  4. 4Beat the egg in a shallow bowl, then mix panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
  5. 5Dip each stuffed jalapeño into the beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  6. 6Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the poppers for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy, working in batches.
