Smoky, flaky fish fillets pan-fried to golden perfection and served with melted butter for a classic British breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 2 kipper fillets (about 200g)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 lemon lemon, cut into wedges
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. 1Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. 2Place kipper fillets skin-side down in the hot pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until the skin crisps.
  3. 3Flip the fillets carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the flesh side.
  4. 4Remove kippers to a serving plate and top with remaining butter, lemon wedge, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  5. 5Serve immediately while warm with toast or black bread.
