Ingredients
- •300 g short-grain rice
- •300 g bean sprouts
- •250 g ground beef
- •3 tbsp soy sauce
- •2 green onions, sliced
- •1 tsp sesame oil
Directions
- 1Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then drain it well.
- 2Brown the ground beef in a dry pot, breaking it up, then season with one spoon of the soy sauce.
- 3Add the rice and enough water to sit a centimetre above it. Bring to a boil.
- 4Pile the bean sprouts on top, cover tightly, and cook on low for fifteen minutes.
- 5Rest off the heat, still covered, for ten minutes.
- 6Add the remaining soy sauce, the sesame oil and the green onions, stir through, and serve.
💡 Do not lift the lid while the sprouts steam. They cook in trapped steam, and letting it out leaves them raw and squeaky.
