Ingredients
- •1 cup molasses
- •1/2 cup butter
- •3/4 cup brown sugar
- •1 large egg
- •2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- •1 teaspoon baking soda
- •2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- •1 teaspoon ground ginger
- •1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- •1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- •1/4 teaspoon salt
- •1 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2Cream together butter and brown sugar, then mix in molasses and egg until combined.
- 3In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
- 4Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- 5Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- 6Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are set but centers remain slightly soft.
- 7Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 8Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
