Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 6 oz shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 4 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 6 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup pickled mustard greens

Directions

  1. 1Cook shallots in a saucepan until deeply golden, then add garlic and mushrooms.
  2. 2Add ground pork and cook for 6 minutes until no longer pink.
  3. 3Stir in soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, five-spice, and water.
  4. 4Add hard-boiled eggs and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes until the pork is glossy.
  5. 5Slice the braised eggs in half.
  6. 6Serve the pork and eggs over rice with pickled mustard greens.
